Get permission and timing settled first
Send the listing, VIN if available, year, make, model, address and purchase deadline. Confirm the seller will allow an independent inspection and make keys available. For a dealer or private seller near Sherman Way or Winnetka Avenue, check visitor parking, identification rules and the time window before booking.
If a cold start matters, ask the seller not to run the car before the appointment. The seller can decline a road test or other step; limitations are recorded rather than filled in with assumptions.
Read findings as a snapshot, not a warranty
An on-site review can cover accessible body, cabin, visible engine bay and underbody when safe, as well as warning lights and available scan data. It describes what was visible and operating at the appointment. It cannot guarantee future reliability or rule out every hidden, intermittent or cleared problem.
A seller lot inspection is not a shop teardown, lift inspection, emissions test or comprehensive measurement of alignment. If observations warrant more work, obtain records or arrange a specialist shop evaluation before making the purchase decision.
Choose an inspection-friendly Winnetka location
A level authorized space with room to walk around the car is preferable to a crowded curb. Tell us the exact address and parking instructions rather than only a nearby intersection. If the seller controls access, arrange for someone with keys to remain available through the appointment.
Existing pre-purchase terms and price are confirmed before scheduling. Send any specific concern—warning light, unusual noise or reported repair—so the inspection can focus attention while still documenting its limits.
Questions about this appointment
Can a mobile inspection certify a used car?
No. It records observations at one time and is not a certification, warranty or guarantee against hidden defects.
What if the seller refuses a requested check?
The limitation is noted, and the report does not claim a finding for a check that was not allowed.
