The basic vehicle fluids we service
Different systems require different fluid specifications and service procedures. We confirm the exact vehicle and the system being serviced before the appointment so the correct fluid, quantity, access method and level-check procedure can be used.
Common fluid services
Service can include transmission fluid, hydraulic power-steering fluid, brake fluid, engine coolant/antifreeze, transfer-case fluid on applicable 4WD or AWD vehicles, and front or rear differential oil where equipped. Engine oil changes are covered separately under our Mobile Oil Change Service.
The correct service method depends on the vehicle
Not every fluid system should be handled the same way. Some transmissions use a drain-and-fill, some require a filter or pan service, and some use a temperature-controlled level procedure. Differential and transfer-case fluids also require the correct manufacturer specification. We verify the procedure before service rather than using a generic fluid or automatic power flush.

How we handle fluid service
Fluids we commonly service
The exact systems present depend on the vehicle. Many front-wheel-drive cars do not have a separate transfer case or rear differential, and many newer vehicles use electric power steering with no power-steering fluid.
Transmission & steering
- Transmission fluid
- Power-steering fluid on hydraulic power-steering systems
Brake & cooling system
- Brake fluid
- Engine coolant / antifreeze
4WD, AWD & differentials
- Transfer-case fluid
- Front differential fluid / gear oil
- Rear differential fluid / gear oil
How the mobile service works
Send the year, make, model, VIN if available, mileage, and which fluid you want serviced.
We confirm the correct fluid specification, quantity, service method, access requirements, and whether the work is suitable for mobile service.
The service is performed at a safe accessible location and the final fluid level is checked using the vehicle-specific procedure.
When mobile service may not be appropriate
Some vehicles require a perfectly level lift, scan-tool temperature monitoring, specialty filling equipment, extensive underbody removal, or another shop-level procedure. If the system already has slipping, grinding, overheating, severe contamination, metal debris, or an active mechanical problem, diagnosis or repair may be needed before a fluid change.
Before the appointment
Send the VIN when possible, especially for transmission, transfer-case, and differential service. Do not buy generic fluid before the exact specification is confirmed. The vehicle must be on a safe, firm, reasonably level surface with enough access for the requested service.
Service coverage
Fast-response scheduling and same-day service may be available across Hye Tech service areas throughout Los Angeles and surrounding communities, subject to appointment availability, exact address, vehicle access, job scope, parts, weather, parking rules, and safe working conditions.
Frequently asked questions
What basic vehicle fluids can you change?
Depending on the vehicle, Hye Tech can service transmission fluid, hydraulic power-steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant/antifreeze, transfer-case fluid, and front or rear differential fluid.
What is the fluid for the 4-wheel-drive system called?
In many 4WD and AWD vehicles, the transfer case uses its own transfer-case fluid or manufacturer-specified lubricant. Some drivetrains also have separate front and rear differential fluids.
Does every vehicle have power-steering fluid?
No. Many newer vehicles use electric power steering and do not have hydraulic power-steering fluid.
Do you flush every transmission?
No. A power flush is not the correct procedure for every transmission. Depending on the vehicle, the proper service may be a drain-and-fill, pan and filter service, or another manufacturer-specified procedure.
Can you change differential and transfer-case fluid at my location?
Often yes. We first confirm the correct fluid, fill and drain access, required additives if any, and whether the vehicle can be serviced safely on a level surface.
How much does a fluid change cost?
Pricing is vehicle-specific because fluid type and quantity, access, filters or gaskets, and service procedures vary. Send the vehicle details and the fluid you want changed for a specific quote.
