Protect the engine first
If the temperature gauge climbs, a warning appears or steam is visible, pull over safely and shut the engine off. Do not open a hot radiator cap or coolant reservoir; pressurized coolant can burn. Driving farther while overheating risks serious engine damage even if the warning later disappears.
Coolant on the ground can come from a hose, reservoir, water pump, thermostat housing or radiator. Note where it appears without touching hot parts. Tell us whether the heater changed, the fan ran, or recent work was performed.
Find the actual leak or overheating cause
A proper assessment traces accessible residue and checks system behavior after the engine is cool. Pressure testing, cap condition, fan operation and thermostat behavior can help isolate the fault. Replacing a radiator alone will not fix a failed fan, blocked passage or leaking connection elsewhere.
Radiator work may involve draining and refilling the correct coolant, bleeding air and verifying operation at temperature. Vehicle layout, parts and safe fluid handling determine whether the job can be completed on-site. Severe overheating or uncertain leak location may make towing to a shop safer.
Share conditions at the Pacoima location
Tell us whether the car is currently hot, how far it was driven after a warning, and whether coolant is visible. Include year, make, model and engine. Do not restart a vehicle that is losing coolant or has overheated just to move it.
An authorized level work area away from traffic is best; mention industrial-lot rules, gates or drainage restrictions before dispatch. The $149 diagnostic/service visit covers dispatch and up to the first hour of initial testing. Parts and repair scope are confirmed before approval.
Questions about this appointment
Can I add water and drive to a repair shop?
If the engine has overheated or is actively leaking, driving can make damage worse. Let it cool and arrange an assessment or tow.
Will a radiator replacement fix every overheating problem?
No. Fans, thermostats, pumps, hoses and other faults can overheat an engine. The cause should be established first.
