Stop before more heat damages the engine
If the gauge rises, steam appears or a warning lights up, pull over safely and switch off the engine. Never open a radiator or pressurized reservoir cap while hot; coolant can spray and burn. Do not restart because the gauge briefly returns to normal after stopping.
After the engine has fully cooled, note the location of visible fluid without touching hot components or getting under the car. Tell us if the heater changed, how often coolant was added and whether cooling-system work was recent. If the vehicle is on a busy street, arrange a tow to a secure spot first.
Find the source before radiator replacement
A radiator is one possible leak point, but hoses, a water pump, cap, reservoir, thermostat housing or internal engine problem can also cause coolant loss. Fluid may travel before reaching the ground. Inspection and appropriate pressure or temperature checks help identify the fault.
Replacement can involve removing fans, draining correct coolant, refilling, bleeding air and verifying operation. Some vehicles need specialized filling equipment; a major overheat may require additional engine checks. Hye Tech confirms the model and work space before recommending mobile replacement or a shop visit.
Share Arcadia access and vehicle history
Give the exact address, driveway or lot, parking permission and any garage clearance. Near Huntington Drive or Baldwin Avenue, identify a level off-street space with room at the front of the car; a busy curb or loading zone is not suitable for coolant handling. Mention whether the vehicle can move.
The $149 initial diagnostic/service visit includes the mobile visit and up to one hour of testing. Coolant, radiator and extra labor are estimated after inspection. Send year, make, model, engine and warning history; do not drive an overheating vehicle to make access easier.
Questions about this appointment
Does coolant under the car prove the radiator is leaking?
No. Hoses, pumps, caps, reservoirs and other parts can also leak.
Can I remove the cap after steam stops?
Wait until the system is fully cool; it may stay pressurized after visible steam ends.
