Describe what the vents are doing
Tell us whether the air is warm from every vent, airflow is weak, or cooling fades after several minutes. Note whether it changes at idle, at road speed or with outside temperature. Weak airflow can involve a filter, blower or air door; warm air can involve another part of the system.
Mention recent refrigerant service, unusual odor, fan sound or dashboard warning. Do not add refrigerant or sealant before diagnosis. Refrigerant is not normally consumed like fuel, so a low charge may point to a leak or previous service issue that deserves investigation.
Use the right equipment and refrigerant
Refrigerant type, compressor design and service connections are specific to the vehicle. Initial checks can include vent-temperature comparison, accessible fan and control inspection, and suitable pressure or electrical tests. Leak location, recovery and some repairs require specialized equipment or a controlled service area.
Send the VIN or full year, make, model and trim, plus any prior A/C invoice. We explain what the mobile visit can confirm and what needs shop equipment. The $149 diagnostic/service visit includes the mobile visit and up to one hour of initial testing; refrigerant, parts and additional labor are quoted separately after inspection.
Choose an approved San Gabriel location
Share the exact address, parking arrangement, garage rules and any gate instructions. A vehicle near San Gabriel Boulevard or Las Tunas Drive still needs a legal off-street work area with hood clearance; the corridor itself is not a repair bay. In a shared lot, confirm property permission before the appointment.
Tell us whether the issue is constant or intermittent and if engine temperature is also rising. If overheating is present, stop the engine safely and report that first. Hye Tech verifies site access, vehicle refrigerant and mobile scope before dispatch because not every A/C component repair is appropriate curbside.
Questions about this appointment
Does weak airflow mean the refrigerant is low?
No. A cabin filter, blower or air-door issue may reduce airflow while refrigerant is unrelated.
Can you recharge the system without checking it?
A low charge should be evaluated first; adding refrigerant without finding a leak may be temporary.
